Cetacean Hearing Thresholds

The Programme has provided funding for Dr. Darlene Ketten to conduct an analysis of cetaceans utilizing biomechanical modelling. This project will leverage anatomical data related to ear characteristics that influence sensitivity thresholds, ultimately leading to the creation of model audiograms and threshold estimates for Humpback whales, Minke whales, Harbour porpoises, and Bottlenose dolphins.
